Encouraging creativity
Last week I had the opportunity to teach students in a high school class how to make a stained glass fused pendant. It was impressive to see the designs they came up with. I especially loved the clever names they had for their pieces like Shattered Sun, Perspective and Son of Mars.
I was again reminded of how art can be so influential in expression. By participating in a small glass project they were learning about style, function, beauty and technique. They had the opportunity to sell their pendant at a fund-raising gala for Teens Act. The group's goal is to empower teens for a higher education. I was glad to have the chance to be a part of encouraging creativity and artistic expression. Art is amazing and so are the kids who participated in this project.
